Consolidating My Online Presence

This will be my first post in this new space. I'm accomplishing several things here:

1. Rationalizing my online presence by reducing the number of places my original content appears.
2. Reducing the cost to operate the various web sites with which I entertain myself.

Eventually everything in the old Movable Type (djpappas.org/nft, djpappas.org/soapbox and djpappas.org/) and WordPress (djpappas.org/djp) will be transitioned here. It was fun while it lasted but there's really no point in maintaining the separate spaces. The hard part will be building the necessary redirect statements. It's going to take some time but it will be nice having one home online.

Of course, that's a bit of an exaggeration since I continue to maintain some online sites with some commercial blogging hosts. Vox, Typepad, Wordress.com have all been fun to play with but I will need to shut some of them down. There's really no point in being there other then keeping up with the innovations each company is bringing to the marketplace.

Of course, I will purposefully maintain at least two other outlets for publishing content which allow me to maintain some anonymity. For the same reason, it probably makes sense to maintain space for anonymous comments on the commercial vendors.
