2009 Kick-Off

Welcome the 2009 Troy Strawberry Festival Kick Off.

My name is David Pappas, I am the Chairman-elect for the 2010 Troy Strawberry Festival. My first official public act in that role is to host today's kickoff. I'm honored to do so and hope you enjoy yourself today.

Invocation

We are fortunate to be able to again host the event here at the First Lutheran Church. We have asked Pastor Ric Barnes to deliver the invocation. Please stand as he comes forward.

2009 Kick Off Host2009 Kick Off HostLast night I managed to stumble through the kick off for the 2009 Troy Strawberry Festival. You know it's bad when you have numerous people tell you "it wasn't that bad. You did fine". The biggest challenge, as I saw last year as well, is getting every dignitary recognized. Even though I had every one of them listed in front of me, I still managed to miss a few.

Actually, it wasn't that bad - but I'm definitely not going to earn a living as a public speaker. The Troy Daily News has a front page story. As is my custom, I've reposted it's contents along with a link to the original story. I'll keep my copy here private so unless you have an account on this web site, you won't be seeing it.
