Under Construction

I have received more calls over the past several weeks from 'placement firms' then I have received in the past five years. Several agencies are looking to place me and several are looking to place individuals where I am employed.

Now - I am not looking to switch employers and I do not have hiring authority with my employer. These are not fruitful conversations for anyone involved. It took me a little while to figure out what was going on.

People (recruiters) are farming information out of LinkdIn and Plaxo to get contact information. I had one agency looking to place associates in to the office this past week. I finally asked him how he had connected with me. He shared that he knew me through LinkedIn.

I will be more careful going forward to not waste my - or anyone else's. As Nancy Reagan would say - "Just say no".
